How to install OkayCMS on hosting yourself + VIDEO

We decided to update the article on the installation of the OkayCMS system since periodically there are questions related to the installation.

To get started, you need hosting + domain. In this example, we will use hosting Ukraine, the interface of the hosting providers is different, but the essence of the actions performed is intuitive.

Stage 1. It is necessary to download the archive of the system in a line on all pages of the site there is a Download button.

You must enter your mail and name, after clicking on the Download button, an instant download of the system will begin, the system files will additionally be sent to your mail.

Then the OkayCMS.zip archive will appear on your Desktop or in the folder you need.

You need to unzip it.

Stage 2. We go to the hosting, in our case it is hosting Ukraine. We create a database.

Click, create a new database.

We write a name that is different from those bases that we already have in our profile, if you have several sites. For example reb, ppdd, etc. The name of the database is written only in English and cannot contain punctuation marks. Click create Database.

To access the database, use your login (username) and password. Make a note of the password for the database.

Stage 3. Uploading the distribution kit to hosting

Go to the File Manager and create a directory, right-click and select Create Directory (specify the domain name for the directory).

We fall into the folder (directory) we added and download install (not the entire OkayCMS folder) for this, click download and find the file we need (then just drag it).

Important! check the path, if it is not correct, the installer will not start.

4. Stage. We go to the address bar of the browser and write the domain http: //www. site address / install / and press Enter, after which the installer starts.

he OkayCMS Settings page will open. Read the license agreement for the use of OkayCMS and click the checkbox "I have read and agree with the terms of the License Agreement."

Then the Installation will start:

In the next step, you will be asked to enter the databases.
In the "Server" field, enter the server address (host) (provided by the hosting provider)
In the "Database Name" field, enter the name you gave your database.
In the "Database username (Name)" field, enter the name of the database user.
In the "Password" field, enter the password for your database.
We recorded all this data when we created the database. If you haven't, go back to Ukrhosting, open Databases and find your new database.
After filling in all the fields, click "Establish a connection to the database"

The system setup window will appear. Come up with login information and be sure to write it down for yourself to get into the admin panel.

After filling in all the fields, a message will appear that the site has been installed successfully.

It remains only to check if everything is good at Ukrhosting.

5 Installation is complete. Save the data for work and you can customize the site.
