Major changes in OkayCMS 2.0:

  1. Administrative panel.

    A radically new design, structure and layout according to modern approaches. Now the admin panel is more friendly, understandable and user-friendly. A place is provided for placing new functionality, improvements and modules. The main trump card of the new admin panel is its adaptability. It is now convenient to make adjustments, process orders, respond to inquiries from any device.
  2. OkayCMS technical support.

    Functionality for communication with OkayCMS technical support has been introduced into the admin panel. Now you do not need to call, write by mail or skype. You can ask questions, get advice, help in installing a CMS, template or add-on directly from the administrative panel of your site by sending a request to technical support. This will help us answer your questions faster, and the history of correspondence on all topics will always be stored in one place - in your admin panel.   1. Multilingual site.

    The multilingualism of the client part has been changed and the multilingualism of the admin panel has been added. Now translations of static phrases are stored not in the database, but in files. For the client side, this makes it easier to install new themes and the ability to switch between them. For both parts (both the admin panel and the client), this makes it easier to translate the site into other languages. Now it is not a problem to make a website for a client completely in a foreign language. To do this, you need to translate phrases in just two files. At the time of release, two languages for the administrative panel were added to OkayCMS 2.0 - Russian and English, but their number will increase in the near future.
  2. New default template.

    The template code is now cleaner and more pleasant for developers, more detailed comments. The template itself allows you to add a large number of categories.
  3. PHP 7.

    Full PHP 7 support, which will allow sites on OkayCMS to run faster.

And now, briefly about the changes in the admin panel.

Let's start in the order given in the side menu. By the way, it collapses by default, but you can also fix it by clicking on the button next to the logo.

Changes in the OkayCMS admin panel:

Catalog - Products

Filters are moved up. This made it possible to expand the block of information about goods. The size of the preview photo has been increased. Product settings have been moved to a separate column. The most frequently used product activity button is now a toggle button, which is convenient and intuitive.

By the way, in the settings column the upload button in Yandex.Market has been renamed to "upload to XML", the link itself now looks like /feed.xml. In fact, the unloading functionality remains the same, only the name of the link has changed. This was done for two reasons:

  1. The upload file to Ya.Market is also suitable for other price aggregators: Mail.ru, prom.ua, hotline.ua, price.ua, etc.
  2. users do not know about this and believe that uploading to Yandex.Market is only suitable for Yandex.Market, so they do not use it.

Catalog - Products - Add product

One of the most modified pages.

  • The block with product images has been moved to the left (1). If a large number of files have been uploaded, the "Show all photos" button will appear. The first image in the block is the main photo of the product, it is highlighted with a green frame with a check mark. You can add an image either by clicking on the "+" or by dragging the photo into this area. All these changes made it possible to get rid of unnecessary text and make the functionality more understandable and familiar to the user.
  • The categories to which the product belongs are displayed as tags (2). The main one is highlighted by a frame with a green corner. To add categories - select the necessary ones from the list, to delete - press the red cross in the corner of the category. I hope it will be clear and convenient for everyone.

  • Product options. The place of the most violent controversy. The main problem with the current display is the lack of space for adding new functionality and the impossibility of labeling all columns. Therefore, in 2.0 product options are displayed in 2 lines: the first contains the main functionality, the second contains additional, little-used + space for inserting new fields. Also added the "Weight" field, as it is often used when integrating with delivery services

  • Promo images (4) are now added directly to the product. Drag-n-drop and multi-select when adding works here, which greatly speeds up the work.
  • A rating of 2.0 is set using a half-notch in the range from 1 to 5 points (5). Isn't it convenient?

  • Product meta tags. Many may wonder why they are at the bottom of the page. Will explain. Meta tags are filled in automatically after selecting a category, brand, short description. Previously, these fields were located at the top above the short description field, so their formation was not always noticeable and understandable. Now, filling in the product from top to bottom, at the end you will see the automatically filled-in fields with meta tags, which you will only need to check and, if necessary, edit. In addition, these fields are usually filled in once and for a long time, so there is no need to place them in the first screen, where frequently changed information is located - quantity, price, options and various product settings.

Catalog - Categories

Categories in the list are collapsed by default, when expanding using ajax, their child subcategories drop out. Due to this, for sites with a large number of subcategories, this section will look compact.

Catalog - Properties

In the list of properties, you can see in which categories this property is used. There is a filter by category.

Orders - Order Settings

Now you can create individual order statuses, and not be limited to the ones created by default - New, Accepted, At courier, Delivered. You can also create tags for orders - call back, blacklist, etc.

Buyers - Coupons

You can now create a coupon while in the coupons list.

Articles

Now you can split blog articles and news posts.

SEO

Added an SEO section where the main SEO settings, which were previously scattered throughout the admin area, are taken out. Now you can add the code of third-party scripts (online chat, counters, etc.) directly through the admin panel.

Site settings have been redesigned, expanded and regrouped.

Some of the less popular API-related functionality with third-party resources (integration with Topvisor, statistics from YandexMetrica) has been removed from the CMS and will soon appear in MarketPlace OkayCMS as free add-ons.
